Reed named CEO of Freightliner Custom Chassis, Thomas Built Buses

Industry veteran to lead iconic brands

Portland, OR - May 3, 2023

Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) today announced the appointment of Michael Reed as President and CEO of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) and Thomas Built Buses (TBB). Reed will be responsible for leading the two iconic brands and their dedicated teams in continuing to deliver innovative and customer-centric solutions to the specialty chassis and school bus markets.

Reed brings over 30 years of experience in the commercial vehicle industry to his new role. He has held various leadership positions within DTNA, including Vice President of Sales and Marketing for FCCC and Vice President of Business Development for TBB. Most recently, Reed served as Senior Vice President of Global Strategy and Business Development for DTNA, where he was responsible for developing and executing the company's long-term growth strategy.

Reed holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the American Marketing Association (AMA).

Reed will be based in Portland, Oregon, at the headquarters of FCCC and TBB.
