Stars Struggles Early vs. Oilers in Game 1
Missed Opportunities in First
The Dallas Stars took the home ice advantage in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final on Thursday night for their matchup with the Edmonton Oilers. Despite having home ice, the Stars struggled in the first period. The Oilers scored twice early and kept the Stars scoreless, putting Dallas in a tough position for the rest of the game. The Stars managed 12 shots on goal in the first period, but they couldn't manage to make any of them count. The Stars will need to find a way to generate more scoring chances if they want to take down the Oilers in this series.
Oilers Dominate First Period
The Oilers controlled the play in the first period, outshooting the Stars 17-12. Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid set up Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman to score the two goals. With the Oilers up by two, the Stars will have to come back strong in the second period if they want to tie the game up. The Stars have a lot of work to do if they want to win this series. They will need to find a way to generate more offense and play better defense. If they can do that, they have a good chance of winning this series.
